Nutritional Therapy and Nutrition Counselling
What is Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional Therapy is a natural and holistic healing approach, based on scientifically proven facts, that our food provides us with everything we need to obtain and maintain an optimal state of health. Our body knows how to heal itself, we just need to feed it the right ingredients.
Hippocrates once said “Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food”, he also said “All disease begins in the gut”. The majority of health conditions that we suffer from today are as a result of our stressful lives, sedentary lifestyles and poor diet. We can reduce the symptoms and sometimes totally heal many of our modern-day disorders, with food and nutritional supplements. In fact, I am living proof of this fact and so are many of my clients. I have worked with clients with obesity, diabetes, digestive disorders, autoimmune, menopausal issues and mental health problems and have significantly reduced, or even eliminated, their symptoms purely by making changes to what they eat.
Nutrition and lifestyle change
My role as a Nutritional Therapist and NLP Master Coach is to help you choose the right foods for your health and also to offer emotional support and motivation, facilitating you to stick with the new lifestyle you have chosen for yourself.
I am uniquely placed as a Nutritional Therapist because not only can I offer nutritional advice, I can also use my skills as a Master of NLP to offer professional nutrition counselling including emotional support, changing bad habits, erasing limiting beliefs and introducing powerful motivational strategies.
As we age we begin to suffer from numerous disorders which affect our physical health and our brain health; feeling tired all the time, lacking mental clarity, struggling to get a good nights sleep, suffering from stiff and achy joints, feeling overwhelmed and anxious, feeling overweight and sluggish, increasing digestive issues, just to name a few. If I were to work with you, my aim is to give you back your mental clarity, energy, slim waistline, pain-free joints and zest for life.
To achieve this, I have designed the following programmes to offer structure and support:
1. 28 day programme
If I were to work with you, after completing a lifestyle questionnaire and food diary, we would meet for 1-hour, where we would devise a personalised 28-day treatment programme. The aim of this programme is to put you on the path to achieving optimum health. During this programme, I will be in touch with you every day (via video-link, email or telephone), ensuring that you make the necessary changes to your diet and lifestyle and that you stay motivated and on track.
2. Maintenance programme
When you have completed the 28-day programme, we meet again online to discuss your next steps. As you are probably well aware, that these first 28 days are just the start of the process of improving your health and moving you towards optimum health. When you finish the 28 days, I can guarantee that you will feel so good that you will want to continue the good work. We therefore move onto a maintenance programme which ensures that you continue the good work beyond 28 days. During this programme we are in touch everyday as before, via email and phone and once per month we meet, together with other like-minded people, to discuss further improvements in your mental and physical well-being.
Long term solutions
Making yourself healthier with the right nutrition is not a short-term fix. It takes time, planning and perseverance. These programmes are designed to help you make the necessary lifestyle changes for the long-term – ie. forever!
My passion for nutrition and lifestyle change were born out of my desire to heal myself, my family and my closest friends. My mission is to pass on my knowledge to you, giving you the tools required to become your own healer.
