Tamsin Paolo

Tamsin PaolaI have been practising various styles of yoga for over 17 years. I love sharing yoga with others and particularly enjoy helping people create space in their busy lives to find balance and reconnect. As an on-the-go mum to three young and spirited daughters, I know how difficult this can be!

My general classes (Hatha Flow) blend both Hatha (a broad term that includes most physical yoga styles) and Vinyasa (flow yoga) to enable students to enjoy a varied yoga practice.

Classes focus on improving posture, increasing strength and flexibility, developing awareness and control of the breath and enhancing feelings of overall well-being. All levels and abilities are welcome.

I am also passionate about women’s health during pregnancy and beyond. My Pregnancy and Postnatal mum and baby classes nurture, support and empower women as their bodies – and lives! – change and adjust.

Qualifications:
200hr teacher training with Sally Parkes
85hr pre and postnatal teacher training with Sally Parkes
Both qualifications are Yoga Alliance Certified.

I am always learning and will be attending training with Katy Appleton and Andrew McGonigle (Dr. Yogi) later on in 2019.

About Yoga:
Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. Through the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), you will stretch, align and calm your body. Yoga provides you with an opportunity to switch off from the stresses of daily life as well as improve your physical strength, co-ordination, balance and cardiovascular health. Classes encourage relaxation, enhance feelings of wellbeing, and help you to feel more emotionally and spiritually connected.

Hitting the slopes? This is the ultimate class for improving your deep core and strength to the stabilising muscles in your knees and hips and lower back. Your balance and agility will be challenged with the use of the foam roller and Fitball (Swiss Ball). The class has an element of low impact aerobic fat burning, also improving strength, stamina and endurance, and flexibility.

We will cover key Yoga poses, breaking each one down to give you a greater understanding of each pose, key alignment technique and why it’s of benefit. This will enable you to feel confident when you leave the workshop to practice the poses at home.

Optimum Health Sports injury Clinic & Pilates Studio opened in Fleet October 2007, and is the ‘sister’ company to Optimum Fitness based within the Surrey Sports Park, University of Surrey, which has been operating for 17 years.
